Arsenal appear to be one step closer to signing Albert Sambi Lokonga from Anderlecht today, with a replacement already lined up.
The Gunners are seeking midfield reinforcements having seen Dani Ceballos return to Real Madrid at the end of the season, whilst Granit Xhaka is expected to go.
Lokonga has been picked out as one for the future, and after weeks of speculation, it seems that a deal is moving closer and closer.
Arsenal’s move for Lokonga
La Derniere Heure in Belgium today report that Lokonga is set to join Arsenal in a deal worth a total of €21.5million (£18.5million).
That deal is made up of €17million (£14.6million) initially, and the rest in potential add-ons, whilst Anderlecht will net a sell-on clause too.
The report adds that Lokonga won’t return to Anderlecht training because his move is so close, with the 21-year-old – branded a ‘young Yaya Toure’ – expected to finalise his move very soon.

Anderlecht find a replacement
Anderlecht have potentially given a hint that the deal is close by targeting a new midfielder themselves in Fausto Vera.
Voetbalkrant claim that Anderlecht are moving for Argentinos Juniors talent Vera, viewing him as the replacement for Lokonga.
Vera, 21, is one of the top young talents in Argentina, and makes sense as a player who can fill Lokonga’s role now whilst also giving future resale value.
With that in mind, Lokonga’s move appears to be imminent, marking an exciting move for Arsenal given his huge potential.
