Are Liverpool signing Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal?

Well, that’s the speculation going around right now.

According to 90 Min, Liverpool are genuinely monitoring the 22-year-old striker’s situation at Arsenal.

Nketiah is out of contract in North London next month and having enjoyed a blistering end to the 2021-22 campaign, scoring doubles against both Chelsea and Leeds United, Jurgen Klopp is reportedly interested in the player.

But the England Under-21 international looked like he meant business at London Colney as Mikel Arteta put his troops through their paces ahead of facing Everton this afternoon.

Nketiah is poised to spearhead the attack against Liverpool’s Merseyside rivals in a game that Arteta’s outfit have to win in order to maximise their chances of qualifying for the Champions League today.

The Hale End graduate isn’t the only striker looking likely to leave Arsenal on a free transfer this summer.

Alexandre Lacazette is also set to be leaving the Emirates Stadium for absolutely nothing ahead of his contract expiring in June.

By next month, Arteta’s only striker is going to be Flo Balogun, who was loaned to Middlesbrough in January.

Football London reported on Saturday that the 20-year-old marksman – who scored three Championship goals this season – was present at Colney.

And in one photograph, Emile Smith Rowe appears to be welcoming him back following his spell in the second tier.

Are Liverpool signing Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal?

Honestly, almost certainly not.

With Divock Origi set to quit Anfield this summer, Liverpool boss Klopp will be needing another striker.

And although Nketiah represents value, given that he’ll be completely free in the very near future, the Arsenal prospect simply isn’t good enough for the Reds.
