As per the report, the Gunners have been worried by the recent form of Nuno Tavares, who Arsenal only signed last summer after a personal recommendation from Edu Gaspar.
With Kieran Tierney out injured, Tavares has taken the left-back spot and will likely retain the position until the end of the season, though with Arsenal now interested in Hickey, it appears that Mikel Arteta is already thinking about replacing the 2021 signing.
Hickey has been superb for Bologna this season and looks set for a return back to Britain this summer, with Premier League clubs lining up moves for the Scottish youngster, with Arsenal now among the interested party.
Able to play both left-back and right-back, Hickey is an ideal candidate for a fullback signing for Arsenal this summer, with the future of Cedric Soares up in the air. and the Scotsman could be perfect for the Gunners.
Arsenal should be pushing hard to sign Hickey if Cedric is sold

Arsenal are set for a massive summer of spending and changes to the squad, with more players set to leave than join if reports are to be believed, and Hickey replacing Cedric could be some smart business from the Gunners.
Able to cover at both left-back and right-back and coming from the same club Arsenal signed Takehiro Tomiyasu, Hickey could be a great option for Arteta’s side as a replacement for Cedric, who looks likely to leave the Premier League giants in the summer.
