Arsenal have suffered a setback in their pursuit to sign Dusan Vlahovic, with Juventus reportedly launching a €60m (£50m) bid for the striker.
According to Tuttosport, the Italian giants have made ‘a surprise’ offer for the ACF Fiorentina star. Juventus have been linked with Vlahovic for some time, yet it is believed that Arsenal are the only side to so far bid for the attacker.
The 21-year-old is wanted by both Arsenal and Juventus, yet it appears that the Gunners could miss out on Vlahovic with the Serie A side rivalling for the attacker. As per the report, Vlahovic is keen on remaining in Italy.
Mikel Arteta’s side are desperate to sign a striker this January. Folarin Balogun has already left Arsenal on loan whilst Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has an offer on the table from Al Hilal as per the Daily Mail. Eddie Nketiah is also tipped to leave north London this month.
Indeed, a striker is needed if Arsenal are to qualify for top-four this season, and Vlahovic could be the perfect answer to this problem. However, the Gunners appear to be slacking behind Juventus, who have now made a rival bid for the forward.
Moreover, with Vlahovic reportedly keen on staying in Italy, the forward could push through a move to Juventus with an offer now seemingly on the table. And for Arsenal, this is a huge problem.

A central midfielder and striker have from the offset been Arsenal’s two main areas that needed addressing this January. However, with Juventus now prepared to sign Vlahovic this month and blocking Arthur Melo from leaving, the Gunners are in deep trouble.
After all, the north London side need quality in both positions if they are to push on for a top-four finish. And with just over a week of the window left to go, Arsenal need to react fast with Vlahovic now edging towards a move to Juventus.
