Arsenal came even closer this time around and will head into the new season seeking ways to get over the line.
New signings will naturally be targeted but Arteta has already started working with some of his plays ahead of pre-season officially starting.
Many Arsenal players are away on international duty right now, featuring in Euro 2024 or Copa America.
Some of those who aren’t involved are now training in Marbella, undergoing something of a pre-pre-season under Arteta.

Ben White, Eddie Nketiah, Emile Smith Rowe, Fabio Vieira, Jurrien Timber and Reiss Nelson are already out there and more players are set to follow.
Martin Odegaard and Thomas Partey are expected to join up with their Arsenal teammates, as is striker Gabriel Jesus.
Jesus has not been included in the Brazil squad for Copa America and will be looking to bounce back after a rather disappointing campaign.
The 27-year-old managed just four Premier League goals last season, making only 17 starts alongside 10 substitute appearances.
Jesus was a huge signing for Arsenal in 2022 but is already in danger of being phased out by the Gunners if he doesn’t recapture his best form.
The former Manchester City ace needs a big pre-season to really start the season in style.
Jesus has now shared a video on social media, showing that he has been back training with former side Palmeiras.
The Brazilian outfit have allowed Jesus to use their facilities in order to gear up for pre-season and the new Premier League campaign.
“A little bit of training in the last few days I was in Brazil. I want to thank Palmeiras for the space provided and for always caring for me. Eternally grateful. Time to go back and prepare in the best way for our season. Let’s go!” said Jesus.
Jesus was seen finishing off some chances in front of goal, something Arsenal would no doubt love to see next season after a rather disappointing campaign in front of goal.
Jesus will soon be in Marbella with his Arsenal teammates and the hope is that this early start to pre-season will set him up for a big season to come.
