Arsenal now have a golden opportunity to sign Michael Olise from Crystal Palace as a rumour emerges.

What’s the story?

Well – according to the Daily Mail back in January – Arsenal are very keen to sign the Crystal Palace No.7 after being left impressed by his standout performances.

Olise recently became the youngest player in Premier League history to record three assists in one game, playing a crucial role as the south Londoners defeated Leeds 5-1 at Elland Road.

Now – thanks to Folarin Balogun – Mikel Arteta and Edu have a golden chance to sign the £8m man.

90min believe Crystal Palace want to buy Balogun from Arsenal following his remarkable loan spell at Reims, where he has scored 18 goals in Ligue 1 to put himself just one strike behind Kylian Mbappe.

In our view, Crystal Palace’s interest in the England Under-21 international could be used as a bargaining chip by Arsenal to sign Olise.

90min claim that Arsenal value Balogun at £30m.

Therefore, a bid in the region of £30m to £40m including Balogun would take the total package into the region of £70m, and may tempt the Eagles to sell – especially as they are in desperate need of a goalscorer like the New York born wonderkid.

Olise would thrive at Arsenal

If Edu found a way to bring the France Under-21 international to north London, we would expect his career to blossom into something special.

In truth, it seems like that may be the case wherever he plays – his potential is frightening.

Olise has two goals and eight assists in the Premier League this season, putting him fourth in the rankings for the latter behind Kevin De Bruyne, Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard.

That is a fine achievement, and it speaks volumes that Olise is still amongst these star names despite having a fairly quiet first half of the campaign.

Under Arteta – a man who is clearly quite talented when it comes to coaching wingers, such as Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling – we believe Olise would thrive at the Emirates Stadium.

Be sure to keep an eye out for his name over the summer, as Arsenal could lodge a bid.
