Newcastle United are once again interested in signing Arsenal centre back Rob Holding as they pursue defensive additions this month.
The Telegraph claim that Newcastle are desperate to add centre backs but may not be able to sign top target Sven Botman.
Lille are standing firm over Botman, meaning Newcastle need to look elsewhere right now.
Holding is believed to be one of the options, joining James Tarkowski, Lloyd Kelly, Joe Rodon, Nat Phillips, Mason Holgate and Diego Carlos.
Newcastle fans may remember that Steve Bruce wanted to bring Holding to Newcastle back in 2020.
However, Mikel Arteta blocked the move and started using Holding in his starting lineup at Arsenal.
Fast forward just over a year and Holding may hope to join Newcastle this month for first-team football.

Holding, 26, has started just three Premier League games this season. Whilst he’s playing in cup games, Holding clearly isn’t a key man at Arsenal.
Newcastle may be able to offer Holding a bigger role, but Arsenal surely wouldn’t sell easily during the January window.
Pablo Mari and Calum Chambers could go, meaning Holding is valuable cover behind Ben White and Gabriel Magalhaes.
Praised as ‘fantastic’ by Sol Campbell, Holding could help solidify this Newcastle back line but he won’t come cheap.
