The Athletic are reporting that Newcastle United could spend their entire transfer budget on Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock.
What’s the story?
Newcastle reportedly want to bring Willock back to St. James’ Park from Arsenal.
The midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan at Newcastle from Arsenal.
The 21-year-old scored eight goals in 14 Premier League games for the Magpies.
Newcastle’s transfer budget will allow them to make two loan signings and one permanent deal this summer, according to The Athletic.
Manager Steve Bruce wants a left centre-back, a defensive midfielder and a No 8.
Arsenal reportedly value Willock at £20 million, and Newcastle ‘may consider exhausting their resources to secure his signature’ at that price.

Sell or keep?
Willock is only 21, and given his performances for Newcastle during the second half of last season, it is clear that he has a bright future.
The midfielder’s current contract at the Gunners runs until the summer of 2023.
Perhaps it would be best for Arsenal to send Willock – described as “an amazing player” by Newcastle winger Allan Saint-Maximin on Stadium Astro in May 2021 – out on loan for next season and then sell him for a higher price than £20 million next summer.
If Willock builds on his performances for the Magpies last season, then his value will only go higher.
