Arsenal think Mykhaylo Mudryk wants to sign for them – but manager Mikel Arteta still hasn’t decided whether to make a move.
That’s according to transfer insider Ben Jacobs, who has been speaking to Give Me Sport.
Jacobs claims that Arsenal firmly believe that Shakhtar Donetsk wide man Mudryk wants a January move to the Emirates Stadium.
However, Arteta is allegedly still undecided on a move, meaning this is no sure thing for the Gunners.
Arteta allegedly likes Mudryk but believes Shakhar’s price tag is pretty hefty – especially with Mudryk not immediately seen as a first-team starter.

Mudryk has hinted at wanting Arsenal move
Mudryk has been linked with Arsenal for months now.
Speaking to Vlada Sedan – the wife of Arsenal star Oleksandr Zinchenko – Mudryk admitted that he would like to play with Zinchenko and he would rather start for Arsenal than be a bench player at Real Madrid.
Mudryk also claimed to be following Arsenal’s results and style of play whilst he was stunned by the number of messages sent by Arsenal fans urging him to join.
All of those comments hinted towards Mudryk fancying a move to Arsenal but Shakhtar are expected to command big money.
Mudryk is so exciting on the ball, especially when given space to run at defenders on the counter attack.
The Champions League Twitter account has published that Mudryk was clocked as the fastest player in the Champions League group stage.
The 21-year-old looks to be an enormous talent and that pace would fit in well with this Arsenal team.
Yet Arsenal need to think about value here.
The Gunners need a midfielder and maybe even another striker now Gabriel Jesus has picked up an injury at the World Cup.
Spending at least £40million – and likely much more – on Mudryk, who may start as cover for Gabriel Martinelli, may not be what Arteta wants to do in January.
We would love to see Mudryk in an Arsenal shirt soon but it all rests on Arteta’s decision.
