Colorado Rapids starlet Darren Yapi is training with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal ahead of a potential move to the Premier League giants, as reported by MLS Soccer.

It emerged last week that Dantouma Toure, a 17-year-old winger born in Guinea but made in the USA, had touched down in North London for a spell with the Gunners.

Toure is contracted to Colorado Rapids and made his MLS debut recently, also attracting the attention of Scottish Premiership champions Rangers.

Toure, however, is not the only Denver-based teenager on Arsenal’s radar.

Will Arsenal sign a trio of MLS starlets?

According to MLS Soccer, Arsenal have taken another Rapids starlet on trial. Yapi signed a ‘homegrown contract’ with the Western Conference leaders earlier this year and has represented the United States at U17 level.

It remains to be seen whether Yapi, or Toure for that matter, can impress enough to earn themselves a move to one of the biggest clubs in England.

Arsenal are also running the rule over Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty, an Ontario-born forward likened to Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies due to his searing pace.

Marshall-Rutty wears the number seven shirt for Canadian giants Toronto FC. He is reported to have joined Yapi and Toure in training behind the scenes with Arsenal’s next generation.

With post-Brexit legislation making it difficult for Premier League clubs to snap up exciting young talent from other European nations, don’t be surprised if the MLS market becomes increasingly popular amongst top-flight clubs.

As pointed out by Forbes, players based on the other side of The Atlantic will not be subject to such stringent work permit rules brought in after the UK departed the European Union 12 months ago.

Arsenal missed out on the chance to sign Serie A defender Valentin Antov in January due to Brexit complications.

Another MLS wonderkid, Dallas FC striker Ricardo Pepi, has been linked with a £9 million move to Liverpool. He recently handed in a transfer request.
