Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has raved about Ben White on the club’s official website and has been impressed by the progress that the defender has made.
White, a former Leeds United loanee, moved to Arsenal from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer of 2021.
The 24-year-old did not exactly make the best of starts at the Gunners, but he has grown as a footballer over the past few months.
White has now established as a key figure at the back for Arsenal and has also earned two England caps.
Arsenal boss Arteta has been left stunned by the progress that White has made and how the 24-year-old has responded to the challenge.

Mikel Arteta on Arsenal’s Ben White
Arteta told Arsenal’s official website about White: “He’s had a brilliant season.
“I think again what he’s done, how quickly he’s adapted, how quickly he’s been able to handle the pressure with the number that he’s wearing, with the price that we paid, with what we demand him to do. Straight away at his age, he’s been great.”
Important player for Gunners
White is only 24 years of age now, but he is showing maturity beyond his years at Arsenal.
The centre-back is one of the first names on the Arsenal teamsheet when he is fit and available.
White has formed a strong partnership with Gabriel at the back, and that is a big reason why Arsenal are doing so well in the Premier League this season.
The Gunners have conceded only 27 goals in 24 Premier League matches so far this season.
That shows just how effective and mean White and Gabriel have been at the back for Arsenal.
