Arsenal will reportedly meet with ACF Fiorentina this week to finalise the sale of Lucas Torreira, who has spent the season with the Italian side on loan.
According to La Nazione via CalcioMercato, the Tuscan-based club are eager to complete the permeant signing of Torreira this month, with Arsenal meeting with Fiorentina to negotiate the final details of the transfer.
As per the report, Arsenal stand to make £15m (€12m) from the sale of Torreira to Fiorentina. The Gunners signed the midfielder in 2018 for a reported fee of £26m in one of Unai Emery’s first transfers for the club.
Despite an impressive first season, Torreira’s form dropped off a cliff with the north London side, with the midfielder leaving for a loan spell at Atletico Madrid which proved to be unproductive for the 25-year-old.
Indeed, Torreira’s future since 2020 has always looked to be away from Arsenal. And now, it appears that the midfielder is finally getting a full-time move from the Premier League giants.
Torreira has been a key player for Fiorentina this season. The Serie A side currently sit seventh in the standings, just two points off Juventus in fifth.
Arsenal have done well to recoup £12m in Torreira sale to Fiorentina

Arsenal are usually quite poor at selling off players for any sort of money. However, that hasn’t been the case for Torreira and his pending move to Fiorentina permanently.
The midfielder, who Mikel Arteta labelled as ‘superb’ in 2020, might be leaving for a major loss. Yet Arsenal getting some sort of fee for the South American is something the Gunners have rarely done in recent transfer windows.
Sokratis, Shkodran Mustafi and Mesut Ozil all left Arsenal last January for free, whilst the only player to leave for a fee in the summer in 2021 was Joe Willock. And with Torreira leaving for Fiorentina for £12m, this has to be considered a victory for the Gunners.
