Liverpool and Arsenal are looking to bolster their midfield options during the summer transfer market and it shouldn’t be a surprise that they are keen on Leeds United’s Tyler Adams, who did something that Declan Rice and Alexis Mac Allister couldn’t even match this season.
Despite missing several months through injury, Tyler Adams was still fourth on the list of ‘most tackles’ made over the course of the 2022/23 Premier League campaign.
The list was topped by Fulham’s summer signing and unsung hero, Joao Palhinha, who made a quite stunning 147 tackles – the next best was Moises Caicedo on 100.

Idrissa Gueye, who narrowly avoided relegation with Everton, was third on the list with 97 tackles, followed by Adams and Manchester United’s Casemiro, who were joint on 89.
It’s fair to say that, if the USA captain wasn’t injured towards the back end and Casemiro didn’t get so many suspensions, then the duo would have been raising their bat by the end of the season.
Either way, it shouldn’t be a surprise that, despite Leeds going down, some of the Premier League big boys, from Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, are keen on the hard-hitting American international.

Tyler Adams would be a smart purchase for Arsenal or Liverpool
If the 24-year-old didn’t get injured at the most crucial of times, then it could be argued that Leeds would have stayed up.
Adams isn’t just a combative player or someone who reads the game well from a defensive aspect, but he has high leadership skills.
Given that the transfer fee on his head won’t be inflated now that Leeds are down, then he is someone Liverpool and Arsenal should push for because he would be a smart purchase.
