Jamie Carragher has said on Sky Sports Premier League (7:13pm, February 13, 2022) that he thinks that reported Arsenal target Youri Tielemans will leave Leicester City in the summer of 2022.
The Sky Sports pundit believes that Tielemans, linked with a move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the summer transfer window, thinks that he is a Champions League player.
Tielemans has decided not to extend his contract that runs out in the summer of 2023, according to well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano.
90min have reported that Arsenal are among the clubs who are keen on securing the services of the Belgium international midfielder.
Leicester could reportedly ask for £40 million as transfer fee for the 24-year-old.
Carragher said about Tielemans on Sky Sports Premier League (7:13pm, February 13, 2022): “I don’t think there should be such a big furore about him not signing a contract.
“Do you really expect Youri Tielemans to sign a contract with Leicester going forwards? I don’t see it. I think he will see himself as Champions League player.
“He is playing for Belgium, one of the best teams in world football. And this is Leicester’s template, even under Brendan Rodgers. I expect him to leave in the summer.”

Could Arsenal sign Youri Tielemans from Leicester City?
In our view, Arsenal could sign Tielemans from Leicester in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners are doing well at the moment and could end up in the Premier League top four.
If that happens, then Tielemans will certainly be hugely tempted to move to the Gunners.
Arsenal are a massive club and are a global brand, and we think that the 24-year-old Belgium international midfielder would find a move to the North London club very appealing.
