Arsenal and Leeds have missed out on the signing of Ajax star Noussair Mazraoui, with Bayern Munich now in a complete agreement with the Moroccon defender.

According to Sport Bild via Abendzeitung, the German giants have agreed to a deal with the 24-year-old right-back which will see Mazraoui join Bayern for free this summer despite interest from Arsenal and Leeds.

ESPN were the ones to report of the Premier League side’s eagerness on signing Mazraoui this summer, with the defender’s contract with Ajax set to expire at the end of this season, hence why Bayern have managed to sign the talented defender for nothing.

With both Arsenal and Leeds looking to sign a right-back this summer, missing out on Mazraoui is a major blow for both Premier League clubs given how much of a bargain the defender could have been.

Mazraoui has been one of the top fullbacks in Europe over the past two seasons and a key member of Erik Ten Hag’s impressive Ajax system, with his performances now landing the defender a move to Bayern.

Indeed, with Benjamin Pavard struggling for form this season in the right-back position, Mazraoui is a sensible option for Bayern to take over the role, much to the dismay of both Arsenal and Leeds.

Mazraoui would have been perfect for Arsenal and Leeds, but with Bayern winning the race for the Ajax superstar, the Premier League sides must now move on from the Moroccan defender.

With the summer window not opening for another two months, Arsenal and Leeds have the time needed to find alternatives for Mazraoui, who could become a sensation with Bayern next season.
