Reported Arsenal and Spurs target Joaquin Correa will be sold by Lazio before the transfer window closes, former Biancocelesti defender Massimo Piscedda has told Rai Sport, via Cittaceleste.
After Felipe Anderson completed his long-awaited return to the Stadio Olimpico last week, it was assumed Correa would be on his way to the Leonardo da Vinci International airport, passport in hand.
Liverpool and Everton have both been linked with the Argentina international of late, although speculation suggests north London is a more likely destination for a man who joined Lazio from Sevilla in 2018.
According to Alfredo Pedulla, Tottenham Hotspur director Fabio Paratici is a huge fan of the fleet-footed forward.
Spurs have offered £25 million for a man Paratici also wanted to sign at Juventus, after north London neighbours Arsenal failed with a £17 million bid for the very same player.
Will Arsenal or Tottenham win the race for Lazio’s Joaquin Correa?
Earlier this month, new Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri admitted Correa had “expressed his desire to leave”.
And while Sarri still hopes to retain the services of the versatile 26-year-old, Piscedda thinks he may be disappointed.
“The problem is not him. In my opinion, it is the club that is trying to sell him,” says a man who enjoyed two spells at Lazio during his playing career.
“I don’t think it’s him who wants to change.

“For me, he would be a fantastic winger (under Sarri). He has the necessary acceleration and technique to do well. My wish is he stays and plays in that position.
“If he wants to leave, it would be good to let him go. Nevertheless, I hope the coach can push him to stay.”
Corrrea was in talks regarding a move to Paris Saint-Germain recently. Negotiations soon stalled, however, as the Ligue 1 giants need to sell before they can invest further in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.
