Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are both linked to signing Evan Ndicka.

Earlier in January, it was reported that the two North London outfits have been offered his services [Frankfurter Rundschau], as covered by HITC Sport.

However, a German journalist from Bild has an update.

According to Christian Falk, speaking to Give Me Sport, Arsenal have a ‘very good chance’ of signing the towering defender.

Despite Tottenham desperately needing reinforcements in this area, the Gunners are seemingly a more realistic option to get the Eintracht Frankfurt powerhouse, who is out of contract this summer.

Falk told GMS: “If he is leaving the club, I would say yes, they have a very good chance. But also Frankfurt is hoping to keep him; he has an offer on the table for a new deal.

“It’s a three-year contract. He gets more money. But also, if he gets €3-5m, this is what I’ve heard.”

As we saw in midweek, Spurs, who lost 4-2 away to Manchester City, are in dire need of reinforcements.

Antonio Conte must be pulling his hair out at seeing another defensive disasterclass, this time from Clement Lenglet who virtually cost the Lilywhites the fourth goal that Hugo Lloris picked out of his net.

Tottenham have needed better central defenders for years now, however, so their problems are a tad on the self-inflicted side.

As for Arsenal, well they’re comfortably top of the Premier League and William Saliba and Gabriel have been among the division’s most solid defenders.

But adding someone of Ndicka’s quality would only enhance their depth in a major way.
