Paul Merson has praised Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka on Sky Sports Premier League (7:39pm, January 13, 2022) and has hailed his commitment.
The Sky Sports pundit has said that Xhaka is very committed on the football pitch for Arsenal, and believes that the 29-year-old makes the Gunners a better team.
Former Arsenal star Merson is a big fan of the 29-year-old.
Merson made the comments about Xhaka in the build-up to the Carabao Cup game between Liverpool and Arsenal on Thursday evening.
Xhaka was sent off for raising his boot to the chest of Diogo Jota.
Merson said about Xhaka on Sky Sports Premier League (7:39pm, January 13, 2022): “He will run through a brick wall for you.
“He will make his mistakes, he will get his sending-offs and he will get his yellow cards, but he always plays.
“He always plays. I think they are a better team with him in it. That’s a compliment.”
Granit Xhaka a big player for Arsenal
In our opinion, Xhaka is a big player for Arsenal and makes the Gunners a better team.
Even though he does get sent off on occasions, like against Liverpool.
The 29-year-old does tend to make a silly challenge every so often and gets red and yellow cards far too many times than anyone would like.
However, we cannot deny that Xhaka is a very good and experienced midfielder who can be brilliant on his day.

There is no wonder that a world-class manager like Jose Mourinho wants him.
The former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur manager wanted to sign Xhaka for AS Roma in the summer of 2021.
And, according to reports, Mourinho is still interested in the 29-year-old.
It shows just how highly Xhaka is rated in the footballing community.
In our view, Xhaka is a very good midfielder and will be massive for Arsenal in the coming weeks and months.
Mikel Arteta’s side are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
We do not think that Arsenal should even entertain the idea of selling Xhaka to Roma or to any club in the middle of the season.
