Jay Bothroyd has said on Twitter that Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum would be a good signing for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the January transfer window.

Bothroyd, a former Arsenal youth player, believes that Wijnaldum would be the best midfielder in the current Gunners’ team.

The Telegraph have reported that Arsenal are leading the race for former Liverpool midfielder Wijnaldum.

Newcastle United are also reported to be keen on re-signing the 31-year-old midfielder on a loan deal in the January transfer window.

However, according to the report, the Netherlands international would prefer a move to London.

PSG’s Georginio Wijnaldum would make Arsenal better

In our view, Arsenal should do all they can to sign Wijnaldum on loan from PSG in the January transfer window.

Yes, we know that the Dutchman is not having the best of times at PSG at the moment.

The Dutchman has made 11 starts and seven substitute appearances in Ligue 1 and has made three starts and two substitute appearances in the Champions League so far this season.

But from his time in England, we know just how good the former Liverpool midfielder is.

Wijnaldum, who won the Premier League and the Champions League with Liverpool, is a very dynamic midfielder who could do a box-to-box role for Arsenal and would help in their quest to finish in the Premier League top four this season.
