Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are leading the race for Georginio Wijnaldum, who is also wanted by Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United, according to The Telegraph.

The Telegraph have reported that Newcastle want to bring back Wijnaldum to St. James’ Park.

But, Howe’s side are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

Wijnaldum won the Premier League and the Champions League with Liverpool.

The 31-year-old midfielder is now used to playing for top clubs and challenging for the biggest club competitions.

Arsenal are aiming to finish in the Premier League top four, and a move to the Gunners and play regularly for Arteta could appeal to Wijnaldum.

The PSG no. 18 has made 11 starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League and has made three starts and two substitute appearances in the Champions League so far this season.
