Tottenham were once again in top form last night as Antonio Conte’s side demolished Everton 5-0, and for Harry Kane, it was a historic night for the Spurs star as he surpassed Thierry Henry’s Premier League goalscoring record.
The England international bagged a brace against the Toffees to take his overall record in the top-flight to 176 goals in total, leapfrogging Arsenal legend Henry and now sitting just one off Frank Lampard, the highest-scoring midfielder in Premier League history.
With two months of the season left to play, there is a strong chance that Kane will overtake the manager he embarrassed last night, with Sergio Aguero also in the Tottenham star’s sights with the Manchester City legend sat on 184 Premier League goals.
Indeed, Kane leading over Henry has caused some debates on social media between Arsenal and Tottenham supporters, with Gooners fuming that the Spurs superstar has now bagged more goals in the Premier League than their all-time record goalscorer.
The result last night in north London was already a tough one to swallow for Arsenal, with supporters fuming that Everton keeled over so fast for Tottenham who made up huge ground in their goal difference in the Premier League table.
With Kane also beating Henry’s record, it was an overall disastrous night for Arsenal supporters, yet whilst the Tottenham star embarks on his path to climb ever-higher in the scoring charts, the achievement is not all doom-and-gloom for the Gunners.
Kane’s scoring record has nothing on Henry’s trophy haul

The Tottenham attacker is likely to one day become the all-time Premier League top-scorer, yet for Arsenal fans, it’s easy to forget that this could realistically be Kane’s only career achievement if he remains in north London, unlike Henry’s.
After all, the legendary Premier League attacker has won more titles at Tottenham than Spurs have won silverware in the last 14 years, and for Kane, this lack of trophies could again be the catalyst that pushes him away to a rival club where team success is more likely.
