Arsenal are through to the last 16 of the Carabao Cup after beating AFC Wimbledon 3-0 on Wednesday night, with Nuno Tavares impressing.
The Gunners took the lead with a penalty as Alexandre Lacazette converted from 12 yards after a foul on Gabriel Martinelli.
Emile Smith Rowe bagged the second, with Eddie Nketiah’s back heel securing the win for Mikel Arteta’s men.
Arsenal have been drawn at home against Leeds United in the fourth round as Arteta chases silverware.
Tavares shows promise for Arsenal
Summer signing Tavares was mocked by Benfica fans when he headed to London.
The belief was that Tavares is too raw and inconsistent, with a move to Arsenal just too early for him.
So far though, Tavares has shown real promise at Arsenal. In his limited playing time, Tavares looks like being an ideal backup for Kieran Tierney and a player for the future.
On Wednesday night, Tavares again excited fans.
The 21-year-old had four shots – one of which hit the post – whilst recording two key passes.
Add in two aerials won, two tackles and one clearance and Tavares had a pretty decent night.

Arsenal fans react on Twitter
Arsenal fans have been praising Tavares on Twitter, falling over themselves to hail his display.
Some called Tavares ‘incredible’ and ‘sensational’, praising his play up the left flank.
Others even think Tavares can be world class one day, and even believing Arsene Wenger would be a fan of him.
There is real optimism that Tavares is going to be a star at Arsenal, and here are some of the best tweets about him after last night’s display…
