The Hale End graduate took his tally for the season to ten goals, making Smith Rowe the first academy player to hit double digits in a single campaign since Cesc Fabregas in 2009/10.
Indeed, not many would have predicted Smith Rowe to be Arsenal’s top-scorer at this stage of the season, yet the England international continues to deliver at the right time, with the Gunners in a great position in the race for top-four.
Arsenal have three games in hand over Manchester United and four over West Ham, and wins in only just two or three of these fixtures will put the north London side in a UEFA Champions League spot in the Premier League.
And Smith Rowe’s form will be important if Arsenal are to do the unthinkable and qualify for the Champions League, with the winger in incredible form over the weekend against Brentford in what was a huge result for the north London side.
