Some Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation that the Gunners are interested in West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.
What’s the story?
The Daily Star has reported that Arsenal are interested in signing Johnstone from West Brom in the summer transfer window.
The Baggies will play in the Championship next season after getting relegated from the Premier League.
West Brom are open to selling the 28-year-old, but they want £20 million as transfer fee for the England international.
Arsenal’s top target in goal is Aaron Ramsdale of Sheffield United.
The Blades, too, were relegated at the end of last season, but they are not desperate to sell Ramsdale.
Arsenal are looking at Johnstone as an alternative.
What are Arsenal fans saying?
As you can see from the tweets below, Arsenal fans are in favour of signing Johnstone from West Brom.
Well, some of them anyway.
Bernd Leno is the first-choice goalkeeper at Arsenal, but with Mat Ryan’s loan spell ending, manager Mikel Arteta needs to bring in another player between the posts.
Johnstone is a very good goalkeeper who has a lot of experience in the Premier League.
The West Brom star would make Arsenal better.
