Some Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the announcement that Folarin Balogun has been nominated for a Premier League 2 award.
As announced on Arsenal’s official website this afternoon, Balogun has been nominated for January’s Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.
The 19-year-old striker was superb for the Gunners’ Under-23 last month. The teenager, who is out of contract at the North London club in the summer of 2021, scored a hat-trick in the 5-0 win against Brighton and Hove Albion and was the captain during the 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.
It was a great month for Balogun, and it will give support to his fans who want Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to give him more chances in the first team.
According to WhoScored, the striker has yet to play in the Premier League this season, but he has scored two goals and provided one assist in 61 minutes in the Europa League and has played once in the EFL Cup for the Gunners.
Some Arsenal fans on Twitter have responded to the announcement about Balogun by urging Arteta to play him more and are worried that he will leave the club in the summer of 2021.
