Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are interested in signing Jarrod Bowen from David Moyes’s West Ham United in the summer transfer window, according to CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has told GiveMeSport that Arsenal have enquired about signing Bowen from Premier League rivals West Ham this summer.

West Ham, though, do not want to sell the 25-year-old England international attacker, according to Jacobs

Arsenal want to sign Jarrod Bowen from West Ham

Jacobs told GiveMeSport: “With Bowen, West Ham’s stance remains that they really don’t want to sell, so there’s a lot of clubs circling over Bowen, but the challenge, much like Declan Rice, is persuading West Ham to sell during this window and West Ham remain pretty intent not to let him go.

“So, there’s lots of excitement about Bowen moving potentially to a club like Arsenal, but it’s all hypothetical at the moment, because West Ham don’t want to sell.

“But Arsenal have definitely made an enquiry around Bowen to see what the situation is, but that’s what they’ve been told.”

West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen would make Arsenal better

In our view, Jarrod Bowen would be a brilliant signing for Arsenal, but West Ham United will make it hard for the Gunners to sign one of their best players.

Bowen is a very versatile player who can operate as a winger, forward or midfielder.

The England international has developed a lot at West Ham, and given that he is only 25, it is fair to say that his best years are ahead of him.

Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen is a big fan of Bowen, said about him on Channel 4 in June 2022, as transcribed by HITC Sport at the time: “He’s had such a good season. Not that many players that just totally change in their mid 20s and become unbelievable players.

“Don’t get me wrong, this season, he has just gone to a totally different level. I love the way he moves from out to in.”

The West Ham no. 20 scored 12 goals and gave 10 assists in 34 Premier League starts for West Ham last season.

Bowen also scored three goals and gave one assist in the Europa League for the Hammers last season.
