Sport have reported that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are determined to sign Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio, a player Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool also want.
AS have reported that Liverpool have informed Asensio’s entourage that they like him and want to sign him.
However, it seems that Liverpool will face serious competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal.
Sport have claimed that Arsenal want to secure the services of the 26-year-old Spain international winger at ‘at all costs’.
Arsenal are pushing for a move for the Spain international – described by Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti as “a player with extraordinary quality” in AS in April 2022 – because of the positive experiences they have had with Martin Odegaard and Daniel Ceballos, according to the report.

Manchester United and Newcastle United are also interested in Asensio, according to Sport, who have added that Madrid want €50 million (£42.92m) for the Spain international, who earns £117,000 per week as salary (SalarySport).
Arsenal or Liverpool for Marco Asensio?
In our view, Arsenal could struggle to sign Marco Asensio from Real Madrid if Liverpool really make a push.
Sadio Mane is reportedly leaving Liverpool, and Roberto Firmino has injury problems last season.
Now, of course, Darwin Nunez has moved to Anfield, but there is still space for another attacker, especially one who is 26, has his best years ahead of him, and has won the La Liga and the UEFA Champions League three times each with Madrid.
Marco Asensio.
