Earlier today, it was revealed that Bayern Munich are on the verge of signing Sadio Mane from Liverpool, news which should delight Crystal Palace fans.
What’s the story?
Well, you may be wondering why the Selhurst Park faithful would care about this story.
If that is the case, then you are probably unaware of how much pain Mane has caused the south Londoners over the years.
Remarkably, the Senegal international leaves Anfield having scored in his last nine outings against Crystal Palace, which earned him a place in the Premier League record books.
As the Premier League’s official website shows, Mane beat Robin van Persie’s record after scoring in nine successive games against the Eagles.
In total, the 30-year-old has scored 13 goals in 15 appearances against Crystal Palace, with some coming while he was wearing a Southampton shirt.

If that wasn’t enough, Mane also has three assists against the Eagles, while he has only lost one of those 15 meetings with the south Londoners – a phenomenal record, to say the least.
The Bayern Munich-bound forward has been nothing but a pain in the backside for Crystal Palace, and in our view, their supporters will be pleased to see the back of him.
Crystal Palace have more to fear than Sadio Mane
In truth, Jürgen Klopp wasn’t exactly relying on Mane to hurt opponents.
Even with the 30-year-old gone, Crystal Palace will still have to deal with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and Liverpool’s new £64m signing Darwin Nunez.

Nevertheless, this is the Premier League, where you have to be prepared to face the very best.
With Patrick Vieira at the helm – a complete professional and a fierce competitor – we’re sure nobody at Crystal Palace will slack off against Liverpool, just because Mane has departed.
