Arsenal have held international discussions over launching a new move to sign Brentford goalkeeper David Raya in one of the 2022 transfer windows.
That’s according to a new report from the Daily Mail, who claim that there could be changes in the goalkeeping department at Arsenal.
The Gunners only just signed Aaron Ramsdale from Sheffield United last month.
Yet with Bernd Leno now unhappy being on the bench, Arsenal could sell him and sign a replacement like Raya.
Arsenal’s pursuit of Raya continues
This rumour isn’t a huge surprise given Arsenal’s long-standing interest in Raya.
Arsenal wanted Raya in October 2020, and reports even suggested that he would hand in a transfer request to force the move.
Raya ended up staying at Brentford, helping them win promotion last season.
Arsenal still fancy Raya though, given that goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana worked with him at Brentford.

Raya branded ‘incredible’ by Jurgen Klopp
Raya is not only a solid shot-stopper, but is also very adept with the ball at his feet.
Jurgen Klopp praised his ‘incredible’ technical ability just days ago, telling BBC Sport that Raya could play as a number 10.
The problem for Arsenal is that Raya is a first-choice goalkeeper at Brentford.
Would Raya give up that playing time to become second-choice to Ramsdale at Arsenal?
It seems unlikely. Add in that Brentford look a good bet to stay in the Premier League and this pursuit seems tough for Arsenal to pull off.
