Paul Merson has praised reported Arsenal target and Crystal Palace star Michael Olise on Sky Sports News (1:44pm, March 5, 2022).
The former Arsenal star believes that Olise would be a cheap signing for any club for just £35 million.
On the Soccer Saturday show, Sky presenter Jeff Stelling said that Olise, linked with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal among other clubs, has a release clause of £35 million in his contract at Palace.
The Sun reported in February that Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Lille and Bayern Munich all are interested in signing the 20-year-old – who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger – in the summer transfer window.
Former Crystal Palace forward Clinton Morrison does not think that the Eagles will sell Olise at the end of the season.
Morrison said: “Yeah, a couple of years. Let’s keep him for a couple of years, and then he is gone.”
Stelling disclosed: “I think there is a buyout clause of £35 million.”
Merson responded: “I think he is a Rolls Royce. I think he is a real real good player, top player.
“He is a top, top player, top talent. £35 million in this day and age, it’s a cup of tea, it’s a cup of tea.
“It’s very unusual for a young kid at that age playing in the Premier League, he plays the game at his pace. That is some doing.”

Michael Olise would be great signing for Arsenal
In our view, Olise would be a brilliant signing for Arsenal, not just for now, but for years to come.
The winger is a very exciting player who has shown what he is capable of in the Premier League.
And he is only 20.
The Palace no. 7 has made nine starts and 12 substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Eagles so far in his career.
Olise has scored two goals and provided five assists in those games.
The youngster has also scored two goals in three FA Cup ties for the Eagles this campaign.
