According to AS, Chelsea are now rivalling Arsenal for the signing of Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak.
The Swedish hitman starred in La Liga last season, racking up 17 goals for Sociedad to attract major interest.
He is now excelling at the European Championships too, causing mayhem against both Spain and then Slovakia.
Arsenal’s pursuit of Isak
The Athletic first reported Arsenal’s interest in Isak last week, before Cadena Ser suggested talks had been held over a move for the Real Sociedad hitman.
Isak’s release clause currently stands at £60million, and with Isak starring on the world stage, Sociedad will be under little pressure to sell for less than that.
Edu is seemingly very keen on bringing Isak to the Emirates, though much will depend on the futures of both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah.

But what about Chelsea?
This is what Arsenal won’t have wanted, but they will have likely known that they won’t be the only team interested in Isak.
Chelsea are now thought to be keen, despite only signing Timo Werner from RB Leipzig in a big-money move last summer.
Thomas Tuchel gave Isak his Borussia Dortmund debut back in 2017, and now wants to reunite with the Swede this summer.
Chelsea have Champions League football and a bigger budget, so Arsenal will now in real danger of losing a top target to a bitter rival.
