As Arsenal prepare to face Leeds United on Saturday, Charles Sagoe Jr has been pictured in training ahead of the clash.

The 18-year-old was seen training with the senior team ahead of the Gunners’ defeat on penalties to Sporting CP in the Europa League as well.

Now, as Arsenal are hoping to take the all-important three points home against Leeds United, Charles Sagoe Jr has been spotted training in and amongst the very best once again.

The teenager, described as one of the ‘standout performers’ for the Under-18 side by youth team expert Jeorge Bird has been compared to Robert Pires by Football Fan Cast.

While the wonderkid is capable of operating as an attacking midfielder, his primary position is at left wing, where he is a handful to deal with.

Ahead of his side’s upcoming contest against Leeds, Charles Sagoe Jr was seen grappling for the ball with Mauro Bandeira in Arsenal training on Getty Images.

Clearly, the highly-rated forward was trying his best to make an impression on Mikel Arteta, which will go a long way if he aims to make the cut at the Emirates Stadium.

The youngster has the dream coach for his development in Arteta

As seen with how he has developed the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Eddie Nketiah and Emile Smith-Rowe, Mikel Arteta clearly knows what he is doing while working with young players.

Seeing how Charles Sagoe Jr was getting stuck in while training with the Arsenal first-team ahead of their battle against Leeds, that would certainly have impressed the Spanish tactician.

Sagoe Jr. must strive to do that and more as Arteta has the capability to turn him from an elite prospect to one of the best players in the world.

The likes of Saka and Martinelli in particular have managed to get into the good books of Arteta and elevated their games to another level.

The Englishman could very well do the same if he continues to graft at London Colney.
