Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has revealed that there is no clear timeframe regarding when Gabriel Jesus will return from injury (via GOAL reporter Charles Watts).
Recently, it was reported by Brazilian outlet sporttv that the Brazilian striker will be sidelined for as long as 3 months.
The £45 million man (Eurosport) suffered a knee injury during Brazil’s final group game in the World Cup against Cameroon.
This was an unpleasant surprise for the Gunners.
Since joining the North London side, the 25-year-old has been nothing short of a revelation.
Through his excellent all-round game as well as wealth of experience at the top level, Jesus has been key in the club topping the Premier League table.

And the club could well lose grasp of their five-point lead at the top of the table to Manchester City, if their main man up top remains out of action.
Arteta provides update on Jesus’ injury
After Arsenal beat Lyon in the Dubai Super Cup, Mikel Arteta disclosed how there remains no clear timeframe regarding when Gabriel Jesus will recover from his length injury.
“No. We know that he needed some intervention in the knee. We’ll have to take it day by day, week by week and see [where] it takes us”, he said, as relayed by GOAL reporter Charles Watts.
This is bad news for Arsenal’s title hopes
While Eddie Nketiah is an able deputy to Gabriel Jesus, it is also slightly unreasonable to expect him to lead Arsenal’s title challenge.
The 23-year-old has simply never been thrown into the deep end when the club are in the midst of a title race.
And that too, up against a Manchester City side that have won four out of the last five league titles.
All Arsenal fans can hope is that Gabriel Jesus makes a speedy recovery and returns to doing what he does best.
