Arsenal could be without star striker Gabriel Jesus for as long as three months in a devastating injury update relayed on Brazilian media last night.

According to sportv, the 25-year-old attacker’s injury is worse than first feared, with the reporter stating that when asked about the length of Jesus’ injury: “It could be as long as three months.” The Arsenal star was ruled out of the remainder of the 2022 FIFA World Cup earlier this week alongside Manchester United defender Alex Telles.

Jesus started Brazil’s final group stage game against Cameroon alongside Arsenal teammate Gabriel Martinelli. However, the striker sustained a knee injury that will now seemingly keep the attacker out of action for as long as three months, with the Gunners set to return to Premier League action on Boxing Day.

With Newcastle United, Tottenham and Erik Ten Hag’s United all coming up in January for Arsenal, Mikel Arteta’s hopes of a Premier League title push could now be over, with Jesus one of the north London side’s most important players this season.
