Kevin Campbell has suggested on Highbury Squad that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are about to sign a quality player in Arthur Melo from Juventus.

The former Arsenal striker believes that Arthur is a baller, and has suggested that he would make Arteta’s side better in midfield.

The Daily Mail have reported that Arsenal are keen on signing the former Barcelona midfielder in the January transfer window.

Juventus are reportedly open to letting the 25-year-old Brazil international midfielder leave this month, but they want some kind of assurance that they will get £35 million in transfer fee either in January or in the summer of 2022.

The London Evening Standard have reported that Arsenal have agreed to pay the Brazilian’s £80,000-a-week salary.

Globo Esporte and Football London have suggested that a transfer is imminent.

Campbell said about Arthur on Highbury Squad: “I watched him at Barcelona. I am telling you – he is a baller. The guy is a baller.”

Would Arthur Melo make Arsenal better?

In our view, Arthur is a very good midfielder who would make Arsenal better and would give manager Mikel Arteta another option in the middle of the park.

You do not get to play for Barcelona and Juventus if you are not a quality footballer.

So, we think that the Brazilian would be a good signing for Arsenal.

Arsenal do have good midfielders, such as Thomas Partey, Granit Xhaka and Albert Sambi Lokonga.

However, there is always room for better players.

Arsenal are in the race for the Premier League top four, and a player of Arthur’s quality would enhance their chances of getting back into the Champions League.
