Dharmesh Sheth says an unnamed Premier League club is willing to sign Newcastle United and Arsenal transfer target, Ivan Fresneda.

The Sky transfer expert added that ‘Newcastle United are watching’ the Real Valladolid rising star, whilst Arsenal are also ‘keeping an eye’ out.

The 18-year-old fullback is a highly-rated player in Spain and someone who could be headed for a big transfer move, either this month or during the summer transfer window.

Either way, Fresneda has the world at his feet and it might just get better for him if he does secure a move to the Premier League.

If he does leave, then where will he end up?

Well, whilst Newcastle and Arsenal lurk in the background, it seems as though a ’surprise’ name from the Premier League has also emerged in trying to sign the teenager which would be a body blow to the other involved clubs, as he told The Transfer Show on Sky Sports.

“We do know a number of Premier League clubs remain interested,” said Sheth. “Newcastle United, especially, they have been watching him several times. Arsenal are just keeping an eye on his situation as well.

“I am also told that an unnamed Premier League club, I wasn’t told who it was, but it’s a name that would surprise me is the information I was given. They are prepared to go in now. Make a bid and sign him straight away. He is happy in Valladolid, we should stay that.

“But he is flattered by the interest and he would be open to the new challenge. New country and a new league. Only turned 18 in September, but he has already been capped by Spain’s U18s and U19s. Big future ahead of him.”

NEWCASTLE AND ARSENAL ARE GREAT FITS

Of course, the logical answer for Fresneda is to stay put and continue his development at Valladolid because he’s not out of his teenage years yet.

But it’s understandable if the lure of the Premier League becomes too much.

In truth, whether he ends up at St James’ Park or at the Emirates Stadium, both of them will be very good destinations for the player.

The duo are the standout teams in the Premier League right now and no-one is riding a wave like they are.
