Fluminense president Mario Bittencourt is expecting to receive a ‘stratospheric’ bid for Andre Trindade as Premier League giants Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur scout the talented midfielder.

The upcoming Club World Cup, Bittencourt explains, is likely to be Andre Trindade’s last act as a Fluminense player. The 22-year-old hoping to sign off with another piece of silverware weighing down his suitcase.

Andre was outstanding in the 2-1 Copa Libertadores victory over Boca Juniors, Fluminense crowned Champions of South America for the very first time and setting up a potential Club World Cup clash with their European counterparts Manchester City.

According to Globo Esporte and Vamo Fluminense, almost half of the Premier League watched Andre take down Boca. Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham and Fulham running the rule over him in the flesh.

Bittencourt, meanwhile, believes mega-money offers will soon be rolling in. Any sale, he tells Globo Esporte, is likely to make Andre the most expensive export in Fluminense history.

Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham in Andre Trindade race

“We are waiting. Today, there is no concrete proposal for Andre. But we are sure that after the Club World Cup – he will play in the Club World Cup – a stratospheric proposal will arrive,” the president explains.

“It could be the biggest sale in the club’s history.”

Andre is reportedly valued at around £30 million.

Fulham failed with an £18 million offer in January, while Liverpool submitted a £26 million bid of their own over the summer. Andre, like Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, turned down a move to Anfield at the time, determined to stay put and secure his place in Fluminense folklore.

Fulham in pole position

Now he’s done exactly that, a departure feels almost guaranteed during the winter window. Liverpool remain interested, while Arsenal potentially view the twice-capped Brazil international as a long-term replacement for the reportedly wantaway Thomas Partey.

UOL, however, believe the club currently in pole position are – somewhat surprisingly – Fulham.
