Arsenal want Pedro Neto and are now ramping up their move for the Wolverhampton Wanderers ace after agreeing to offload Nicolas Pepe.

The Gunners looked into signing a left-footed winger earlier this summer by targeting Raphinha before his move from Leeds United to Barcelona.

Since missing out on the Brazilian, it has gone a little quiet on the winger front for Arsenal – but it may be heating up once again.

Reports from L’Equipe claim that Arsenal have now agreed to loan Nicolas Pepe to Nice with the deal ‘done’, pending confirmation.

Pepe’s exit means Arsenal may now go back into the market for another left-footed winger – and Neto seems to be the player of choice.

Arsenal want Pedro Neto

Arsenal have been heavily linked with Wolves star Neto in recent days, with The Times claiming that talks have been held with agent Jorge Mendes.

Neto was a boyhood Arsenal fan so a move may appeal, even if Wolves are likely to demand north of £50million for the Portuguese ace.

90Min report that Arsenal are ready to step up their chase for Neto having agreed that Pepe deal.

Wolves don’t really want to sell Neto but Arsenal have been given encouragement by his representatives that a deal can be done.

Neto, 22, has notched 11 goals and 12 assists in 96 games for Wolves and is now back fit and firing after a major injury lay-off.

Capable of playing on either flank, Neto would offer great competition for both Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli if a deal can be done.

It’s now over to Edu to try and force this move through, but Arsenal don’t exactly have plenty of time left to sign Neto.

The transfer deadline is next Thursday and the closer we get to that cut-off, the less likely Wolves selling will become.

Wolves won’t want to be left short in their own attack and would surely require a replacement if Neto is to leave.

Pepe’s exit certainly helps Arsenal’s cause, but this could be a race against time as the Gunners eye up a major addition in Neto.
