Japhet Tanganga won plenty of plaudits last week following his Man of the Match performance for Spurs against Manchester City.
The Tottenham Hotspur Academy graduate has long been a fan favourite at the club. Tanganga broke through under Jose Mourinho. And now under Nuno Espirito Santo, the 22-year-old centre-back aims to nails down a first-team spot.
Indeed, the versatile defender was due to spend this season out on loan. However, his display against Tottenham has changed the club’s opinion on Tanganga, who will now remain in north London.
And in a recent interview with the Telegraph, the youngster revealed how grateful he was to Tottenham for giving him a chance in the first team.
Tanganaga said: “The club have helped me so much to be where I am today. They have given me the chance to play on the biggest stage, in the biggest league in the world.
The England youth international added with: “It is amazing. I have to do it justice, by giving back and working hard.”
