Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty wanted to stay at Ibrox in the summer, but he has struggled for game time with Steven Gerrard’s side this term.

MacAnthony hinted in the summer that Posh were keen on the Rangers man, as covered by HITC, but they were unable to bring him in from Ibrox on that occasion.
Peterborough are still on the look out for central midfielders though, and it could be that a move appeals more to the Rangers man in January.
Docherty wanted to stay at Rangers and fight for his place in Steven Gerrard’s side in the summer, but he has failed to force his way into the Glasgow side’s starting plans.
And when asked whether Docherty was still on Posh’s radar, MacAnthony’s answer was very cautious.
“We’re looking at loads of players. I’m not going to disrespect Rangers by talking about their player but we’re always looking at different players who can improve our squad and our team. That’s just what we do,” MacAnthony said.

MacAnthony is usually quick to rule out players who Posh have no interest in, so his comments are intriguing.
Although Docherty has struggled to make an impact at Rangers, he could still be a fine addition to Peterborough’s squad, as he has previously proven his worth in England.
Docherty impressed on loan at Shrewsbury Town in League One last term, but Gerrard seemingly has reservations over using him with any regularity.
Docherty has featured on just six occasions for Rangers all season so far, which suggests that his time at Ibrox could be coming to an end.
