HITC understands that Leeds United do not want to lose midfielder Archie Gray this summer but interested parties believe he could be attainable.

Leeds United are under pressure to comply with financial rules and could have to sanction a major sale to tackle their PSR issues.

Championship Player of the Year Crysencio Summerville is set to leave Elland Road this summer but Archie Gray could now join him heading out the exit.

As it stands, the 18-year-old star could be heading to the Bundesliga. HITC can confirm that Borussia Dortmund are pushing hard to secure his signature while Bayern Munich are ready to rival them for a deal. Leeds’ minority owners Red Bull would also like to take him to Leipzig.

There is also strong interest in Gray’s signature from England with Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Newcastle and Tottenham all having spoken to Leeds about the teenager in recent years.

La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid are also known to have watched Gray in action but HITC understands that his most likely destination is Germany if Leeds decide to sell.

Leeds United set their asking price for Archie Gray

HITC understands that any initial agreement to sign Gray could be worth less than £30million, but add-ons and bonuses included in the deal could see that figure soar beyond £50million.

Gray was a mainstay in Daniel Farke’s side last season, missing just two league games in the Championship as Leeds flirted with promotion.

If Leeds do decide to sell their star asset, the Yorkshire side will want a fee capable of clearing their PSR issues.

Gray has been urged to stay at Leeds by Jeff Stelling, who hailed his development at Elland Road last season.

He made 52 appearances for Leeds across all competitions, including every minute of their Championship play-off matches.
