Cody Gakpo has said that he is open to leaving PSV in the January transfer window amid interest from Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool among other clubs, as quoted in The Athletic.
Gakpo, linked with a move to Arsenal, Liverpool, Leeds United, Manchester United in the January transfer window, has said that he is not surprised that many clubs want to sign him.
The Netherlands international winger is playing for his country at the 2022 Qatar World Cup at the moment.
The 23-year-old has said that he is open to leaving PSV in the middle of the season, thereby opening the door to a potential move to Premier League leaders Arsenal in the January transfer window.
The Mirror reported in October that Arsenal, Leeds United and Manchester United are interested in signing the 23-year-old in January.
CM have reported that Liverpool have already made contact over signing the winger, who has scored nine goals and given 12 assists in 14 Eredivisie matches, and has scored three goals and provided two assists in five UEFA Europa League games so far this season.

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have also been linked with Gakpo, who has scored two goals for the Netherlands at the 2022 Qatar World Cup already.
Arsenal target Cody Gakpo on his future
When asked if he is open to a move when the January transfer window opens, Gakpo replied: “Right now I’m busy with the Dutch team. I’ll see what happens in the winter. In football, anything is possible.”
The winger added: “I’m focused now on the World Cup. It’s always nice to hear but I just focus here and do my best.
“I don’t get shy about the rumours. But it’s a team sport, it’s not about one person. I prefer it to be about the team. It’s nice things that people write, but I’m not too concerned with that.
“I’m not surprised. I know what I’m capable of but it’s always a challenge to reach your highest level, that’s possible. I’m not there yet, I can improve in a lot of things.
“I know I scored two goals this World Cup. But that’s not the focus right now. I can improve, I want to help the team. It’s about being the best team in the end.”
