Anthony Kim completed a journey that has been a long time coming with a memorable win at LIV Golf Adelaide on Sunday.

Kim has faced plenty of challenges away from the course over the past decade, but he has found his way back into professional golf in recent years.

LIV Golf gave him a chance in 2024, though it was clear early on that he was not quite up to speed. His struggles continued into 2025, which ended with his relegation from the circuit.

Kim fought his way back by finishing in the top three at the LIV Promotions Event during the off-season and secured his place for another run.

Now, his comeback is complete, following his incredible victory at LIV Golf Adelaide on Sunday.

Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm were tied for the lead going into the final round at The Grange Golf Club, holding a five-shot advantage over Kim.

LIV Golf fans were looking forward to a battle between the American and Spaniard, but Kim had other ideas.

Rahm carded a 71 while DeChambeau struggled to a 74, and Kim took full advantage with a superb nine-under-par 63 to win by three strokes.

After the final round, Kim spoke about what it was like sharing the stage with two of golf’s biggest names. The 40-year-old replied: “Yeah, I mean, obviously Bryson and Jon have proven themselves as major championship caliber winners, Ryder Cup players, and have consistently played well for a long time, so I have a tremendous amount of respect for them.

“I knew it was going to be an uphill battle today, and I got putts to go my way.

“But obviously Bryson got off to a bad start and really just kind of was hanging in there. But Jon was playing halfway decent at first.

“When I got close, I felt it was very important for me to be seeing what he was doing, even though my focus needed to be on my game. I liked to know where I was compared to the other leaders.”

Anthony Kim discusses future goals following LIV Adelaide win

Kim’s journey back to golf and life is far from over. If anything, his real story might just be getting started.

Following his win in Adelaide, the 40-year-old American spoke about what the victory meant to him and what lies ahead.

“Obviously Bryson and Jon didn’t have their best today, but regardless, I putted great.

“My caddie and I worked so well out there. I heard my wife shouting, even when it was going bananas out there.

“‘All those little things, including the support I’ve had from the crowd here in Australia, have been second to none.

“I’m very overwhelmed with this feeling right now, but my plan is to keep getting better and start winning some more trophies,” he concluded.

An attitude like that can only help him if he wants to keep adding more wins to his record.
