Anthony Hernandez said he initially laughed when he saw what Sean Strickland had posted online ahead of their bout at UFC Fight Night: Houston.
He explained that while the comment did not get inside his head, he took issue with the broader message behind it.
“I laughed when I saw that. If that’s the best you’ve got to get in my head, it’s gonna be a long night. It’s f—— up, yeah, and I don’t like seeing s— like that.”
“I don’t like that my people gotta go through that, but it’s life and it’s the reality of it, and some people are just dirtbags and like to bring it up.”
‘I’m gonna torture him’ at UFC Houston
Anthony Hernandez said he hopes Sean Strickland carries the same tone from social media into the Octagon on fight night in Houston.
He suggested that any attempt at provoking him online will be answered once they meet inside the cage this weekend.
“I hope he keeps that same online energy in the cage because I’m gonna torture him.”
The upcoming middleweight clash now has added edge as both fighters prepare to settle the matter inside the Octagon this weekend.
