Sean Strickland is open to reading a script for UFC promotional material, provided he can finish the filming sessions ahead of schedule.
The ex-middleweight champion is not a fan of the production days fighters go through before an event. Strickland thinks his unfiltered style will not make the final cut anyway, and unless they hand him lines, he feels there is not much point in sticking around.
Strickland is set to headline UFC Houston next month against Anthony ‘Fluffy’ Hernandez, in what will be his first fight since losing his second title fight to Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 312.
Sean Strickland reveals why he hates filming with the UFC

Strickland has built a following around his unfiltered approach and bold trash talk, but not everyone in the UFC ecosystem is on board.
While fans have gravitated towards his style, it has not always landed well with sponsors or broadcasters, who often prefer something more polished.
This evening, he posted a video on Instagram while driving to another UFC shoot. Speaking to his followers, Strickland made it clear that he would rather just be handed a script than spend time recording footage he does not think will ever be used.
“I’m on my way to film with the UFC you guys. And I hate filming with UFC because it’s all f—ing fraudulent, right? It’s like you know me unedited? They won’t play any of that s—.
“So at the end of the day it’s like ‘alright UFC, tell me what you want me to say. I know you need content to put on YouTube or B-Roll, so just tell me what you want me to say.’ Then I’ll f—ing say it and I can get on with my day.”
