Erik Lamela has hit the ground running with Sevilla as the attacker scored a stoppage-time goal in his second appearance for the La Liga side.
The ex-Tottenham star had already won the hearts of Sevilla supporters on his debut when Lamela scored twice to guide Julen Lopetegui’s side to a 3-0 win over Rayo Vallecano.
And Lamela has now done it again as the Argentine winger scored a late goal against Getafe to secure a 1-0 victory for Sevilla. Putting the Andalusian side top of the table after two La Liga games.
Lamela was not a regular goal scorer for Spurs, with the attacker’s best-ever season with Tottenham only yielding 11 strikes in all competitions in the 2015/16 campaign.
Yet Sevilla appears to be the perfect club for Lamela to rediscover his fire for hitting goal after goal. The winger now has three in two games for the Spanish club.
And on social media, Tottenham fans couldn’t believe this goal scoring form Lamela has found since making the move to Sevilla earlier in the transfer window.
Although Spurs have won their opening two Premier League games, some supporters are stunned with how impressive Lamela has been for Sevilla this season.
