Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has given his verdict on Bryan Gil.

Postecoglou has said that there was interest in Gil in the January transfer window, but the Spurs boss is happy that the 22-year-old winger is still part of his squad.

So, what has Ange Postecoglou said about Tottenham Hotspur winger Bryan Gil? Let’s take a look.

Ange Postecoglou praises Tottenham Hotspur winger Bryan Gil

Well, Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has been raving about Bryan Gil.

The former Celtic manager has said that there was interest in Gil from other clubs in the January transfer window, but he was never trying to force him out.

Postecoglou has also said that the 22-year-old Spain international winger works hard in training and is a fantastic young player who could develop further.

The Tottenham boss has added that he is happy to have the winger in his squad for the second half of the season.

HITC reported in late January that Sevilla, Real Sociedad, Valencia and Lazio were keen on signing Gil. Brentford, Brighton and Hove Albion, Crystal Palace and Fulham all were possible options for Gil.

Postecoglou told Football.London when asked about interest in Gil in January: “It’s not an issue with me. Yeah, there was a bit of interest in Bryan, a bit of interest in a lot of our players, but I’ve said this before it is not my role to push people out in that kind of situation.

“I still very much regard them as our players and Bryan is a fantastic young player. He works so hard to improve every day and this first half of the year he’s had a couple of injuries. People shouldn’t underestimate that, especially in a set-up like ours where most of the guys who had a strong pre-season are the ones that hit the ground running.

“He missed out on that but he wants to improve, loves the environment and we love having him part of the group. He’s still a young player with plenty of time to develop and happy to have him around for this second half of the year.”

My View: Bryan Gil has to consider Tottenham future in 2024 summer

In my opinion, Tottenham Hotspur winger Bryan Gil will have to consider his future in the summer of 2024.

I think that Gil needs to look at a possible move away from Spurs on a permanent basis.

While it is encouraging to see Gil impress Ange Postecoglou in training, the problem is that he is not getting regular starts.

The winger is 22 now, and I think that at this stage of his career, at the very least, he needs to have a very good chance of playing week in and week out. Gil is not getting that at Spurs.

Gil has made two starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League for Tottenham this season.
