Tottenham Hotspur already have two incoming signings this summer and Ange Postecoglou will be looking to add more quality to his squad.

It’s not often that you see clubs striking their first summer deals just after the January window has closed.

Tottenham Hotspur did just that though, announcing that Swedish teenager Lucas Bergvall would be joining from Djurgarden at the end of the season.

The midfielder has been tipped for a huge future and will be heading to North London having rejected a move to Barcelona.

Tottenham have also secured a new loan deal for Timo Werner, bringing him back from another spell from RB Leipzig.

That’s a strong start for Tottenham but Ange Postecoglou will be keen to land more quality additions after missing out on a Champions League place.

Ange Postecoglou on Pedro Neto

Tottenham will be tempted to add more attacking options this summer and another wide man could be on the wish list.

HITC understands that Tottenham are long-term admirers of Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Pedro Neto.

The Portuguese wide man has plenty of domestic suitors with Premier League clubs Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle United all having him on their radars.

Neto was a creative force in the Premier League last season, racking up nine assists alongside two goals in 20 appearances.

Sadly, the reason that Neto only played 20 games is that he again suffered injury problems – something which has been an issue for Neto in recent times.

Now back fit and featuring for Portugal at Euro 2024, Neto will be hoping to put his injury problems aside in the future.

Tottenham boss Postecoglou has now offered praise for Neto with the wide man on the Spurs radar.

Speaking on ITV, Postecoglou highlighted that Neto probably would have been a sensation in the Premier League this past season if it hadn’t been for injuries.

Postecoglou noted that Neto was a ‘handful’ for any back line and admitted that Tottenham struggled to cope with him.

The Australian didn’t confirm Tottenham’s interest in Neto, but did share his belief that top clubs will be looking at the Wolves man this summer.

“Apart from his hamstring issues, he would have set the Premier League alight this year,” said Postecoglou. “Every time he played, he was a handful. When we played against him, he caused us all sorts of problems and he’ll be on some big clubs’ radars,” he added.

Any club interested in signing Neto would be doing plenty of due diligence whilst looking into his injury record.

Postecoglou noted Neto’s injuries and that will be in the back of his mind if Tottenham consider firming up that admiration.

Neto has so much talent and it’s easy to imagine him thriving in a Postecoglou team; whether Spurs actually make a move or not remains to be seen.
