Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has been full of praise for midfielder Archie Gray ahead of the new season.

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur have been busy this summer with the North London club hoping to break into the UEFA Champions League places under the Australian.

Spurs pulled off the signing of Archie Gray from Leeds United this summer despite the teenage sensation being close to a move to Brentford but the Lilywhites snuck in at the 11th hour to sign the Englishman.

Tottenham fans were impressed by Gray during pre-season and it appears the Englishman has impressed Postecoglou this season.

Ange Postecoglou praises Archie Gray

Spurs kick off their Premier League campaign on Monday night with the Lilywhites taking on newly promoted Leicester City to round off matchday one of the campaign.

Speaking ahead of Spurs’ game against the Foxes, Postecoglou has been full of praise for Gray, who looks set to play a key role for the Lilywhites this season.

“Archie has settled in really well,” Postecoglou said as per Football.London. Again, great kid but a really, strong mindset. We’ve asked him to play different positions, but he’s handled it really well.”

”Part of the attraction of bringing someone like Archie to our club, and it is the case for a number of players we’ve brought in, is he can play more than one position, so when it’s required, we can use him in those areas.”

”He is going really well, I am really happy with him and he has every chance to play on Monday.”

Gray could be a key signing for Spurs

Gray has similarities to former Spurs ace Gareth Bale with the Englishman, like the Welsh winger moving to Spurs as a teenager.

If the Englishman can have half of the impact that Bale did at Spurs, then the former Leeds United ace could be one of the signings of the summer.

Gray was vital for Leeds last season as they reached the play-off final but lost to Southampton at Wembley Stadium.

Tottenham are preparing for their second season under Postecoglou and there is plenty to be excited about for fans of the Lilywhites.
