Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has blasted Tottenham Hotspur wing-back Pedro Porro for his supposed diving during Scotland’s 2-0 win over Spain at Hampden on Tuesday night.
Scotland shocked the world by beating Spain in their Euro 2024 qualifier, with Tottenham’s January capture, Pedro Porro, starting the game and annoying the locals when he went to ground easily following a challenge from Andy Robertson.
The 23-year-old, who signed from Sporting Lisbon on a loan deal which will be made permanent in the summer, went to ground clutching his face, and then every time he got the ball, he was booed by the Scotland crowd.

They clearly didn’t like the play-acting from the Spurs man, who only lasted 45 minutes in Glasgow, before being hooked off at half-time for Real Madrid’s, Dani Carvajal.
It was a game and evening to forget for Porro and his Spain side, who were eventually beaten by two well-worked Scott McTominay goals, including the opener when Porro slipped and allowed Robertson, of all people, to feed the Manchester United man.
Nonetheless, after the game, Robertson was asked about Porro’s actions and he gave a pretty blunt response, as he told Viaplay Sports.
“I think they were going down a little bit easily,” said Robertson. “We were trying to say that. We were always going to try and be physical. We wanted to be in their faces. We wanted to win our headers and our challenges. I think we did that and I don’t think we crossed the line.
“But they were, especially in the first half, rolling about a wee bit. They used their experience and they got a couple of us booked, which is fair enough to them. But I think we did win that battle and I think we got under their skin a little bit, especially in the first half.
“Then, they made a couple of subs in the second half. Bringing on a bit more experience with Carvajal (for Porro), who doesn’t really get caught up in these things.”

SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM FOR PORRO
The £85k-a-week Spurs star has had a tough start to life in England, the Premier League and now international football, including a shocking debut against Leicester City where Tim Sherwood ripped him apart.
Whether or not the former Spurs man was too harsh on the player given that he had only been in his new surroundings for a few days, it’s not going to help the player that the man that brought him in is now out of the door.
Following Antonio Conte’s rant after Spurs’ 3-3 draw against Southampton, in which Porro scored, he was sacked by Daniel Levy on Sunday evening and replaced by his assistant, Cristian Stellini until the end of the season.
So, welcome to England, the Premier League and Tottenham Hotspur, Pedro Porro.
